Crossfire Marine are proud to announce that we will soon be adding a new catamaran to our line up.

The Crossfire Five8 will be 5.8 metres long (hull length) and slot in under the Crossfire 623GT.

Apart from the slightly smaller size, the Five8 will differ in that it will be constructed from aluminium rather than GRP like her bigger sistership and be a more fishing focused boat.

Crossfire's chief designer Troy Munnery stated "the move to aluminium allows greater flexibilty with view to tailoring the boats to customers needs. This means that whilst a Five8 will be a production boat we can still incorporate specific wishes from our customers"

Troy also noted that the development of the Five8 was based around the idea of a smaller boat, with smaller engines, which is lighter to tow and cheaper to own and operate. "The whole boat is centred around efficiency. The hull shape and hull structure were developed to get the most performance out of lower horsepower. This means less weight, which means you get the same performance from less power."

And its not just on the water where you see the benefits. The towing weight is under two tonnes on the standard aluminium trailer which means most of the medium SUVs can happily tow the boat again reducing ownership costs.

The Five8 is expected to launch September 2017.
